Resources for Churches

4 week online courses designed for churches

What?

IBI is offering access to a selection of our four week online courses. Your church will be given full access to the course of your choice. You can use it in whatever way suits your needs - some churches have found this model very helpful for weekly bible study material.

Course content is delivered through an engaging variety of short teaching videos, audio recordings, course reading and discussion questions. It is delivered by a dynamic selection of authors, teachers and scholars.

Your church can choose from the courses below:

  1. The Book of Ephesians

  2. The Book of Ecclesiastes

  3. Interpreting and Applying the Bible

  4. The Story of the Bible Part 1

  5. The Story of the Bible Part 2

We are currently developing new courses on Bible books and these will be added to the list… so watch this space!

How?

Cost: €250 per church

Your church will be given log-in details to access all course material on the course site. Each participant will have their own account on our online learning platform.

We suggest that a group meet weekly to discuss and share to create a collaborative learning experience. Organising this is left to the discretion of the church. There will also be the option to share thoughts and questions in a written discussion forum on the course as a group.

A person nominated by the church will be given orientation to the course site by Grace Campbell, Online Learning Coordinator at IBI. Once the leader has access and is comfortable with navigating the course, they have the freedom to use it as best fits their context.

The Book of Ephesians

A course designed to walk participants through each chapter of the book and take a big-picture view of the major themes in the letter.

Why?

This course is an insightful introduction to the book of Ephesians as well as a resource for teaching the skills of responsibly reading, interpreting and applying any book of the Bible.

Course content is delivered through an engaging variety of short teaching videos, course readings and interactive questions. There is a structured focus each week moving from active Bible reading to guided exegesis and contemporary application. Personal reflective questions are provided as well as suggested questions and topics for group discussion.

  • Week 1: Background and Introduction (1:1-2)

  • Week 2: A New Unified Humanity (ch 1-2)

  • Week 3: Unity in Diversity (ch 3-4)

  • Week 4: Gospel Shaped Living (ch 5-6)

Video material on the course is delivered by a dynamic selection of authors, teachers and scholars. Participants will learn from Irish theology lecturers from the Irish Bible Institute as well as world-renowned scholars who have published works on the book of Ephesians and who kindly contributed to this course (e.g. Craig Blomberg, Lynn Cohick, Ben Witherington, Frank Thielman and Darrell Bock).

What was so powerful was seeing the application of biblical truth in relation to our faith walk. I felt the reality of God and His call on my life more powerfully than before.
