Mentors and IBI’s Ministry and Personal Development Programme
The Ministry and Personal Development Programme (MPD) is an important element of learning at IBI where our focus is on head, heart and hands. MPD provides an opportunity for each student to reflect on their learning journey at IBI and build up a portfolio of ‘evidence’ of how what they are learning is affecting both their personal life and ministry involvement.
Having a mentor is a crucial part of this programme for each student. Mentors chosen by students come from all walks of life: ministers/pastors, elders, deacons, friends, colleagues, and peers. These relationships of edification and accountability are frequently mentioned by students as a highlight of their experience at IBI. We are grateful for the time, energy and wisdom the mentors give.
Recently, we had a mentor’s day, where we invited the mentors to come to IBI to taste and see a typical day in the life of an IBI student. On the day of one of the nationwide train strikes it was so encouraging that so many mentors were able to be here, including those who drove from Co. Mayo.
Please pray for the mentors who are guiding the students through their year at IBI.
